Book 8

The Book of Virtues

كتاب الفضائل

This is a large section on acts of worship and their merit, beginning with reciting the Qur'an and caring for it. Its chapters move through ablution, the call to prayer, and the prayer itself: praying in congregation, the value of voluntary prayers, standing at night, and the special nights and times of devotion. It then covers fasting in Ramadan and beyond, along with charity and zakat. Together these chapters show the believer the many doors of nearness to Allah and encourage walking through them with eagerness.
