Setup guide
Three quiet ways to keep the verse close.
Pick whichever fits how you already use your phone. Each one is free, takes under a minute, and can be turned off just as easily. The steps differ a little between iPhone and Android, so both are below.
Add a verse to your calendar
Subscribe once and a quiet daily entry appears in the calendar you already check. Nothing to install, and you can remove it any time.
- 1On the Subscribe page, find the feed you want.
- 2Tap the Apple button.
- 3When your phone asks, tap Subscribe, then Add.
- 4The daily entries now show up in your Calendar app.
- 1On the Subscribe page, tap the Google button for the feed you want.
- 2Google Calendar opens and asks to add the calendar. Tap Add.
- 3It syncs to the Google Calendar app on your phone automatically.
If the link opens without adding, tap Copy link instead, open calendar.google.com in a browser, then Other calendars, +, From URL, and paste it.
Install Buruja as an app
Add Buruja to your Home Screen so it opens full screen like a normal app. On iPhone this is also the step that lets you turn on notifications.
- 1Open buruja.com in Safari. (On iOS 16.4 or later, Chrome and Edge work too.)
- 2Tap the Share button: the square with an arrow pointing up.
- 3Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- 4Tap Add. Buruja now has its own icon on your Home Screen.
- 1Open buruja.com in Chrome.
- 2Tap the menu: the three dots at the top right.
- 3Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- 4Tap Install. Buruja appears with your other apps.
Turn on daily notifications
Get one gentle notification a day, at the hour you choose, with a verse, a story from the Seerah, the Companions or the Prophets, a Name of Allah, or the quiz, straight to your device. No inbox, no calendar app, nothing to log into.
- 1First install Buruja to your Home Screen (see the install steps).
- 2Open Buruja from its new Home Screen icon, not from Safari.
- 3Go to the Subscribe page and tap Get a daily reminder.
- 4Tap Allow. A confirmation notification arrives right away.
On iPhone and iPad, notifications only work from the installed app, and need iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- 1Open buruja.com in Chrome (or the installed app).
- 2Go to the Subscribe page and tap Get a daily reminder.
- 3Tap Allow when Chrome asks.
- 4A confirmation notification arrives right away. That is it.
