About
A quiet companion to your day.
Buruja started with a simple wish: that the Qur'an would meet us in the rhythms we already keep. Most of us check our calendars before we check our hearts. So we placed a verse there - gentle, brief, arriving without asking for anything in return.
There is no app to install. No account to make. No streak to break. Just a small entry in tomorrow's morning, waiting for you to notice it.
The name
ٱلْبُرُوج
Buruja takes its name from al-Buruj (ٱلْبُرُوج), the great stars and constellations by which Allah adorned the sky, and the name of the 85th surah of the Qur'an. The image is the whole intention here: a small light returned to each day, steady as the stars, until the way home is lit.
Our intention
Sadaqah jariyah.
“When a person dies, their deeds end except for three: a continuing charity, knowledge that benefits others, and a righteous child who prays for them.”
- Reported by Muslim, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah
We hope Buruja becomes the first kind, by His permission - a small flowing charity, carried by every verse that reaches someone's morning.
Who's behind it
Buruja is built and maintained by Rafi Mohammad, as a sadaqah jariyah, seeking only the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. There is nothing to buy and no account to make. If a verse you read here ever helps you, the one thing I ask is that you remember me in a quiet du'a.
