Supplication if one Fears (Harm)

This short chapter teaches what to say when a believer fears harm from people or other dangers. Rather than meeting threat with anxiety or schemes alone, the Prophet turned to Allah for protection.

The single narration gives his supplication when he feared mischief from others, placing the matter in Allah's hands and seeking refuge in Him against their evil. The lesson is that true safety is sought from Allah, the One able to ward off every harm.

Hadith 981

Abu Musa Al-Ashari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), feared mischief from a people, he would supplicate: "Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim (O Allah! We ask You to face them, and seek Your Protection against their evil." [Abu Dawud and An- Nasa'i].

In plain words

When the Prophet feared harm from a group of people, he turned to Allah, asking Him to face them on his behalf and seeking His protection from their evil.
